Yerba mate is a dried blend of leaves and twigs from the Paraguayan holly (Ilex paraguariensis). Once brewed, it yields a characteristic infusion with a herbal, smoky aroma and a slightly bitter taste, which many compare to strong tea. Yerba mate is particularly popular in South American countries and is often chosen as an alternative to coffee or tea in daily routines.

Usage

Pour a glass of hot water (approx. 80 °C) over 1 sachet of Yerba mate and steep, covered, for about 10-15 minutes.
